(SOUND BARRIER by David (Hold On Tight!))

MATTHIAS VOGT TRIO >> Changing Colours >> (CD > INFRACOM!)

This is well nice. Somewhere between jazz and pop, acoustic and electronic, old and new! Matthias has worked as a pianist and bandleader who likes to keep a constant contact between jazz and electronic and in his compositions you can hear the great care that he has taken with every single note, every single lyric and every single arrangement. A very mature and complex album, one that will stand the test of time and one that holds a favourite track for us all – all you have to do is look for it!

JULIEN JABRE >> Swimming Places >> (DEFECTED)

France’s best kept house secret Mr. Julien Jabre comes out on Defected with this monster of a tune that is already ripping up all floors that it finds in its path! A whopping 7 versions to choose from; ‘Original Mix’, ‘Jerome Sydenham Remix’, ‘Jerome Sydenham Dub’, ‘Pete Heller Main Mix’, ‘Pete Heller Dub’, ‘No Beatz’ and ‘Beatz’… Hard to choose a favourite but if I had to it would most probably be the Sydenham remix because it doesn’t dismantle the original too much but just adds a touch of extra ‘sparkle’. 2006 kicks off brilliantly for the label of Simon Dunmore!

PLAYGROUP Feat. KC FLIGHTT >> Front 2 Back >> (DEFECTED)

You all know this track already and what it is capable of doing, most of you were probably well into the Todd Terry remix. Now to heighten the pleasure even further Defected are putting it out with 7 fantastic versions; ‘Kenny Dope Gotta Extended Mix’, ‘Kenny Dope Gotta Mix’, ‘Kenny Dope Gotta Dub’, ‘Kenny Dope Old School Remix’, ‘Todd Terry Remix Re-Edit’, ‘Todd Terry Unreleased Mix’ and finally the ‘Switch Remix’ that is so cool the speakers began to freeze up! Another wicked release.

SANDBOY >> Echoes >> (CD > HINTERLAND)

Lovely, what a nice album this is. Soulful sweet music that at many times recalls the kind of material that we heard on some old Al Jarreau albums back in the day. Featuring such guests as Randolph Matthews, Clara Hill, Nice Ferreira, Nanar Vorperian, Vanessa Freeman… this is jammed packed full of quality. If you like it soulful, fresh, easy on the ears and not at all ‘false’ this is the record for you!

MARTIN-EZ Feat. DON WAYNE >> Light It Up >> (10” > CRUCIAL SOUNDS)

I might be completely wrong but I think that this label actually comes out of Denmark and how utterly brilliant it is to hear a true piece of ‘dub’ music on this 10” piece of vinyl coming from such a northern country. The dub beats and bass are the kind that get you rocking and then when the vocals start telling you t0 ‘light up your ganja’ you know you are onto a winner! Love it!!!

V. A. >> Destination Boogie >> (CD > Z)

Subtitled ‘Sublime boogie monsters from the 80’s’ Joey Negro and Sean P have compiled and very tasty collection of tunes that are not your everyday run of the mill choices, they have gone much deeper in an effort for you the listener to ‘discover the original sound of the underground’. 20 songs including Mid Air “Ease Out”, Vera Brown “Livin’ Too Fast”, Pamela Joy “Think Fast”, Carol Sylvian “Think”, Brenda Watts “Love Treatment”, Lisa Hill “I’m On The Real Side”, Mazzerati “Super Duper Lovin’”, Last Poets “Long Enough” and many more… You might be saying ‘more 80’s?!?!’ – yes, but 80’s with a difference!

TARANTULAZ Vs. ANGIE STONE >> I Wasn’t Kidding >> (white)

The lady with the lovely vocals Angie Stone and yet another nice song, this time around backed up by the Tarantulaz to give the whole project a more ‘dancefloor’ appeal. 3 mixes to choose from; ‘Main Club mix’ which is exactly what it says on the tin, ‘Different Dub’ that is a kind of cut and paste of various elements that make the track a touch more funky and finally there is the ‘Rainforest Beats’ that is a slightly ‘carnival’ like drum expedition. I like this release…

REEL PEOPLE >> Second Guess >> (double CD > DEFECTED)

Just a quick one here because I reviewed this when it first came out some time ago on Papa. As I said back then, this is a monster of a brilliant album that contains fantastic track after track and now Defected have released it in this double CD format that also contains bonus versions and live performances. Even if you bought the original you should also get this… Essential!

MADITA >> Madita >> (CD > COUCH)

Another young lady from Iceland with a fantastic voice. Here we have 11 tracks that show off the vocal talents of this promising new talent who expresses herself through various styles that can have you either melancholic and thoughtful or even happy and humming along. One of the best releases from Couch to date and the cover artwork is also excellent (a shout also goes out to Dzihan for some great production work).

V. A. >> The Now Sound Of Brazil 2 >> (CD > ZIRIGUIBOOM)

A big thanks goes out to Thierry for sending me this, here we have the newest collection of Brazilian pearls offered by this Belgian based label that includes artists such as Bebel Gilberto, Zuco 103, Celso Fonseca, DJ Dolores, Bossacucanova, Apollo Nove and Cibelle bringing forth some wonderful innovative Brazilian compositions. This release also includes some exclusive tracks and remixes so don’t miss it!

APOLLO NOVE >> Res Inexplicata Volans >> (CD > ZIRIGUIBOOM)

The full length album from this young Brazilian singer who specialises in melodic deep songs that are in some ways almost psychedelic folk-rock and each composition has the ability of dragging the listener in to a world that is painted before their eyes with vocals and notes. Worthy of close attention…

V. A. >> Congotronics 2 (Buzz’N’Rumble From The Urb’N’Jungle) >> (CD + DVD > CRAMMED)

In this CD and lovely DVD you will find everything that you have ever needed when it comes down to the spectacular varied styles of music that bloom in the Kinshasa suburbs. The artists themselves have put together some home made sound systems and the result adds to the raw talent that these Congo outfits have when it comes to making music out of almost nothing! Great for the ears and spectacular for the eyes…

V. A. >> The Box Collection No. 1 >> (5 CD BOX > INTERNATIONAL DEEJAY GIGOLOS)

This just has to be part of your record collections… no doubt about it! This features the previously deleted first four Gigolo compilations plus an extra one and the whole thing will only be available for a very limited period so get hunting! DJ Naughty, Christopher Just, Jeff Mills, DMX Crew, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Zombie Nation, Foremost Poets, Hell, Tuxedomoon… they are all on here plus more. Don’t think too much about this one – go get it!

URSULA RUCKER >> Ma’ At Mama >> (!K7)

I have been a big fan of Miss Rucker for many years and have always enjoyed the way in which she expresses herself lyrically. This, her newest album, is full of 15 ‘lyrical messages’ that as usual don’t shy away when it comes to telling it how it is. Each song shows a more mature Ursula and, in some cases, a more ‘confident’ Ursula as she weaves her way between various different arguments that also includes a song that explains ‘how best to lick a pussy’ as well as finding your way around the body all explained over a top quality jazz base (“Black Erotica”)!!!

ROY AYERS >> Virgin Ubiquity Remixed >> (CD > BBE / RAPSTER)

Over the last few months I have been reviewing various vinyl singles that have been released of some excellent remixes and now, finally, here is the full album and it is beautiful! A massive fan of this massive artist, how great it is to see some of his compositions remixed by names such as Kenny Dope, Joey Negro, Osunlade, Sir Piers, Platinum Pied Pipers, Mr V, Aloe Blacc, Matthew Herbert, DJ Marky & XRS and Basement Jaxx… nothing else needed, this is wonderful!

V. A. >> Goya 1 + Goya 2 (Von Peter Gluckstein) >> (CD > ESSAY)

Two separate compilations coming out of Goya Music over there in Berlin containing 16 songs (on number 1) from such artists as Angelique Kidjo, Noiseshaper, Mama Sissoko, Ingfried Hoffmann, Bebel Gilberto, Radar, Shantel, Lokua Kanza and others … and then on number 2 you will find The Mighty Bop, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Boozoo Bajou, Gitano Family, The Boyz From Brazil, Trouble Man and more. Maybe slightly too ‘gypsy like’ for me in some places but overall two very fine compilations to have and enjoy!

V. A. >> Audiomatique Volume 1.0 >> (CD > AUDIOMATIQUE)

For many of you out there it will just be enough for me to mention that this has been mixed together by Martinez! A brilliant mixture of modern techno and house music from such artists as Trentemoller, Adultnapper, Rob Acid, Faktor-X, Jussi-Pekka, Martinez, Mark & John and more that doesn’t ever get boring but instead takes the listener on a journey full of peaks and drops that makes the imagination run wild! A great piece of work.

THE EGG >> Walking Away >> (CDr > CR2)

Closing the gap even further between dance and rock here once again for our listening pleasure are The Egg with the single entitled “Walking Away” including remixes from Tocadisco and Kiki that are just great for the more electronic floors out there! Then, just when you thought that the guys over at CR2 had treated you enough you discover that hidden amongst the tracks on this release there is also a Mylo remix of their other track “Wall” which will even get your aunty up on the floor!

V. A. >> Tranquilo >> (CD > CHICA DISCOS)

Subtitled “The Winter Island Lounge Mix By Sin Plomo”, I really did enjoy listening to this. Even though it has strong references to ‘lounge’ you must take them in the broadest of senses… it is in fact so much more. Sin Plomo has carefully crafted together 14 songs from Adrian Bahil, Nalin & Kane, Grooveprofessor Feat. Nathalie Pho Duc, NLS, Norman & Real and others (and that is also a great feature – the way he has used artists that are not the same old ones that everybody else likes to throw together) and the result is very catchy indeed! Take a close listen.

SHUR – I - KAN >> Living Inside EP >> (CDr > FREERANGE)

Very atmospheric, very orchestral, very warm, very uplifting with some great beats that push things along and really lovely is the only way I can describe the first track on this EP entitled “Feeling It”. If that doesn’t do it for you there is also another called “Living Inside” that also has a rather cheeky remix that has been done by Mike Monday so make sure you check this one out carefully!

SLOK >> Lonely Child (Satoshi Tomiie 3D remixes) >> (CDr > SAW)

I reviewed the original version some moths ago and since then it has become quite a dancefloor mover. Now here are the new remixes from Satoshi that take the whole thing up to a new level (and even better level!). More hypnotic, more dirty, more ‘punchy’, more cool and even more ‘underground’ than before – this remix package has done exactly what any remix package should, it has improved greatly the original and that is something that we don’t see too often nowadays! My compliments to Satoshi for his great work.

V. A. >> Colour Series: Red 03 >> (CD > FREERANGE)

After the fantastic Yellow and Blue compilations from days gone by this fantastically prolific label now bring fourth number 3: Red. Mike Monday, Marco De Souza, Troydon, Only Freak Feat. Rasiyah, Audiomontage, Square One, Switch, Shur-I-Kan, Robert Strauss, King Kooba, Palm Skin Productions and Kirk Degiorgio all step up to the challenge and bring us 12 excellent tracks including also some exclusives. To be placed proudly beside numbers 1 and 2… Also a big congratulations to the label for reaching its ten years anniversary, see you down the pub for a round!

KAYOT >> Clear Sky >> (CDr > BUZZIN’ FLY)

Straight out of Russia (from a town near Moscow to be precise) come Kayot with their debut release entitled “Clear Sky” which is a touch of deep house with a bass that hits you in the legs and some synth work that gets out of control. Top this off with some broken up vocals and razor sharp beats and the outcome is a tune that has been ripping up dancefloors all over the globe from just a few CDr copies that the label posted out. Flip things over and there is a remix that has been done very knowingly by Manoo & Francois A. The newest bid for the top of the dance charts from Buzzin’ Fly is looking good…

KEVIN SUNRAY >> The Big Drums EP >> (CDr > PROGCITY DEEP)

Coming from the sunny islands of Greece Kevin Sunray brings us a tribal big room percussive number with some exotic seductive young lady ‘moaning’ over the top! 3 mixes to choose from; ‘Tribal Orgy’, ‘Original mix’ or the ‘Hit Me Harder mix’ this latest release from ProgCity Deep is capable of making you sweat even if outside the temperature is well below zero!

BAUCHKLANG >> Many People >> (CDr > KLEIN)

This six sided outfit from Austria hit the mics once again on yet another fine offering that is the fruit of a very hard and lengthy piece of work in an effort to make an album that lives up to the great critical feedback that they have had in the past and seeing the initial reactions they have completed their mission. Beats and vocals that express lyrics with a message and not just empty sounds for the sake of it.

V. A. >> Soul And Jazz In The House >> (CD > SLIP’N’SLIDE)

This great compilation brings together two fantastic compilation series’, Soul In The House and Jazz In The House and here the 12 tracks have been selected and mixed together by France’s DJ Rico. Tracks such as Master Phil Feat. Pedro Wognin “We Got The Swing” blend nicely into Mr. V “Jus’ Dance” and Fred Everything & 20 For 7 Feat. Vanessa Baker “Friday (Lazy vox)” fit wonderfully alongside I:Shead “Sincerement” and if that isn’t enough check out the way Kemdi “Still A Dancer (Sole Channel dub)” goes hand in hand with Markus Enochson Feat. Aaron Phiri “You Blessed Me (Dino & Terry remix)” to name just a few. Another very cool release from the S.N.S. household!

RICHARD BARTZ >> Big >> (KURBEL)

A name that is very familiar with many of you out there and one that has fans all over the world. Here Richard brings us an album of electronic compositions that are of great quality and expertise. Difficult to choose a favourite track here especially as it is clear that some of the tracks already do a lot of damage in the clubs so try and imagine what the forthcoming remixes will be capable of! Strong…

V. A. >> Club Azuli – Future Sound Of The Dance Underground >> (double CD > AZULI)

Mixed by label boss David Piccioni this latest double CD includes great tracks from Full Intention, Rasmus Faber, Hard-Fi, Ian Carey And Mochico Feat. Miss Bunty, Fuzzy Hair, Depeche Mode, Booka Shade, Jesse Garcia, Pryda, Buick Project and loads more… A very well put together collection that sounds great when you play it!

RICH MEDINA >> Connecting The Dots >> (KINDRED SPIRITS)

One of the ‘richest’ voices on the spoken word / rap / soulful scene and an album that is great from beginning to end. 18 songs that keep the listener glued to the speakers with their great lyrics and top class musical compositions. Special guests (another wealth of talent) include Jneiro Jarel, Delouie Avant, Jeremy James & Ginelle Summer, Michele Shaprow, Sy Smith and others… this really is a great album indeed!

V. A. >> Emmanuel – D’Illusions Of Grandeur >> (CD > LITTLE LEAGUE)

You have more than likely heard countless songs that have been written by Emmanuel and don’t even know it! This is because they are written for other artists and this collection brings together a selection of some of his finest pen work interpreted by the likes of KRS 1, Nate James, Belle, Daniel Degourg, Terri Walker, Sandra Escoffery and others. If you are into nu-soul and words with attitude you should really check out this album and discover for yourself just what a massive talent this songwriter really is.

V. A. >> This Is How We Lounge 2 >> (CD > SUNSHINE)

Subtitled ‘The Sunshine Remix Collection” here we see Madrid De Los Austrias “Para Don Alonso” remixed by Yam Who?, Nigel Hayes “Magic Potion” remixed by Circus, Bellcrash “Ghostwritten” remixed by Shanti Roots, Champion Soul “Holdin’ On” remixed by Restless Soul, Robb Scott “Fallin’” remixed by Blackbeard and lots more. Another nice album coming out of Austria.

MATTHEW HERBERT Feat. MARA CARLYLE >> Nice Dream >> (EXIT MUSIC)

This has kindly been sent to me but sadly with no info whatsoever so all I can tell you is that here we see a rather laid back and relaxed Matthew Herbert featuring the golden vocals of Mara Carlyle for this slow moving almost ‘chill’ song that has a very welcoming atmosphere. Maybe it is part of a new album? Let’s hope so…

V. A. >> Connected – 10 Years Of Full Intention >> (triple CD > DEFECTED)

This package contains a double mixed CD plus a bonus unmixed CD which includes 10 special Full Intention remixes and productions. One of the most respected names in the dance scene celebrate their ten years of action by being the latest names on the Defected “Connected” series and as could be expected it is great. CD 1 contains 18 of their remixes for artists like Dina Vass, Brandy, Junior Jack, George Michael, Salsoul Orchestra, Supafly Vs. Fishbowl and lots more whilst CD 2 contains 16 others for the likes of Sex-O-Sonique, The Fog, Frankie Knuckles, Una Mass, Freemasons, Bob Sinclar, Mood 2 Swing and more (you sometimes forget just how many excellent remixes this team have done) and then as mentioned before you also have the bonus third CD.

V. A. >> Salsoul 30th Encore >> (double CD > SALSOUL / SUSS’D!)

Those guys over at Suss’d! have put together yet another fantastic double compilation selected by some of the biggest names in the industry who have chosen their all time favourite Salsoul tracks. Here are a few: Carl Cox chose Instant Funk “Wide World Of Sports”, Todd Terry chose Skyy “Call Me”, Arthur Baker chose Sly Cabell “Feelin’ Fine”, Steve Lawler chose Aurra “Just A Little Love”, Patrick Forge chose The Salsoul Orchestra “Getaway”, Robert Owens chose Loleatta Holloway “All About The Papers”, The Plump DJ’s chose Joe Bataan “Latin Strut”, A Man Called Adam chose Lemon “Freak On”… the list goes on and on… Two CD’s packed full of wonderful Salsoul releases for your collections but most of all for your listening pleasure!

MUALLEM >> Frankie Splits >> (CD > COMPOST)

Hey you… Shhhhh! Come over here, wanna buy an album? Futuristic hip hop, digital soul, dancefloor rockers! How about if I throw in such guests as Amazon, Lyrics Born, Martine Girault, Beans, The Droids, Shawn Lee, Wordsworth, Audrey, Marc Frank… ? Still not sure, what if I mention that it has 14 tracks (plus one bonus one on the CD) and they are all ‘well worth it’? Ok you want one, only thing is you will have to wait until the end of March when Compost hit the streets with it… hang on in there!

INSTANT FUNK >> The Anthology >> (double CD > SALSOUL / SUSS’D!)

One of the milestone names in funk dance music and 29 of their finest pieces of work finally all together on just one double CD! If you haven’t been influenced in some way or another by this group then something is missing, their tunes were some of the biggest dancefloor fillers from years gone by and the quality of their compositions and arrangements were second to none. A big shout out also to Ian Dewhirst who has compiled this with both passion and knowledge… Another essential release!

V. A. >> Boogybytes Vol. 01 >> (CD > BPITCH CONTROL)

Kiki masterfully mixes together Fred Giannelli “Distant Gratification”, Gabriel Ananda “Vergissmeinicht”, Oliver Koletzki “Da Bleibt Er Ganz Cool”, Michael Forzza “Kahana”, Turner “When Will We Leave (Robert Hood remix)”, Guy Gerber “Stoppage Time”, Ame “Rej” and loads of others and he does so in a very smooth and entertaining way. A mixed compilation worth checking out.

V. A. >> Dimitri From Paris In The House Of Love >> (CDr > DEFECTED)

When Defected Records boss Simon Dunmore suggested to Dimitri that he do a follow up to his first In The House compilation Dimitri knew that he had to do something that was outside of the established collection. As the man himself says “You will find here a very personal selection of music, some exclusively produced for this project, some old, some new, but above all, groovy music that I hope will set a loving warm atmosphere and not necessarily on the dancefloor. A warm feeling of love that as a DJ, I believe should be more present in today’s dancefloors”… After listening to this compilation I am sure that you will agree with me when I say that he has done just that and that also, this compilation is beautiful!

V. A. >> Klubb Latino – La Collection 01 >> (3 CD BOX > SLIP’N’SLIDE)

You probably know this CD series from its excellent past releases but now you have the chance of getting hold of three fantastic CD’s containing 35 top Latin house cuts. Artists included: Rasmus Faber, Black Latin Soul, Knee Deep, Armand Van Helden, Oreja, Salome De Bahia, Tiger Stripes, Tempo Rei, Nino, Rey De Copas, Blaze, Blak Beat Niks, Claude Monnet Pres. Monica Noguierra, Mini Coola and tons more… Make sure you don’t miss this!

ALEXANDERS DARK BAND >> Dobutso Bancho >> (CD > DC)

One of the most interesting albums this month comes from Alexanders Dark Band who are rather keen on concocting their own style of electronic based music by mixing up tons of styles. On this recording you will be constantly surprised at the twists and turns that each composition takes, track after track it seems that J. Saul Kane has just gone mad with the knob twiddling in the studio and has created something that can best be described as a ‘sound spliff’, burn this on your player and see what effect it has on your head!!! Well enjoyable stuff…

THE DRE ALLEN PROJECT >> L.Y.F.E. >> (CD > NICETUNES)

The Dre Allen project are in fact Dre Allen, Dawn Robinson, Peter Lobo and Bruce Lawrence and their sound is somewhere between acoustic rock with soulful hip hop influences (if that gives you some kind of idea?…), sometimes they remind me of such outfits as the Counting Crows or even the great Keziah Jones. It’s nice to have this sound come along now and again, especially when it is done as well as this!

V. A. >> My Playlist By Llorca >> (CD > WAGRAM)

Llorca on the decks… fitting together tracks from Jamie Lidell, Seymour Bits, Olav Brekke Matthisen, Midnight City Affair, Supacell, Tone Loc, Dani Siciliano, Chateau Flight, Sharon Phillips, Phonique, Unai and more and more… A very nice mix up for your ears and for your head!

BOSTON RODRIGUEZ >> The President Is Dead… Long Live… >> (CD > LITTLE LEAGUE)

It is actually hard to understand whether or not this Boston Rodriguez is serious or if he is taking the piss… this is because when he wants to play with you he writes and plays compositions that are ‘funny’ and very easy going but then, when he wants to get serious, his tunes are very serious indeed (serious in the sense ‘played, composed, arranged well). I am not sure if these two sides of the coin actually go well together, if the album had been 100% serious (maybe it is… who knows?) I would have liked it a lot more in its entirety, the fact that it chops and changes leaves me rather perplexed!

RANDOM NOISE GENERATION >> Reign >> (CD > CONCEPT MUSIC)

If like myself you are a fan of Octave One or the Burden Brothers then get your shoes on, grab your coat, jump into your car and rush out and buy this great album! Everything we have come to know and like from the brothers is in here (and more) – as the cover notes themselves state; ‘It began with a sound, a sound became a rhythm, a rhythm became an anthem, an anthem moved a generation, a generation changed the world. We are that generation… the Random Noise Generation’!!!

V. A. >> Savas Pascalidis – Relax Your Body >> (double CD > LASERGUN)

Mr. ‘Cheeky boy on the decks’ Pascalidis mixes together tracks from Mike Monday, Move D, Shyza Minelli, Metope, Polarte, Booka Shade, Misc, Leon Segka, Goldfish & Der Dulz, Steve Barnes, Alex Smoke, John Tejada, Konfekt, Mathew Jonson & The Mole plus loads more… and he does so brilliantly! Electronic entertainment for your sound systems.

V. A. >> Bar SuSu Volume 2 >> (double CDr > SUSU)

The first volume went down a right treat all over the place and got some wicked reviews from the worlds press and the general thumbs up from everybody, now Volume 2 brings us ‘A Collection Of Blissful Soulful House Grooves’ spread over 2 CD’s, the first mixed by Notenshun and the second unmixed. Expect such tunes as Mr. A.L.I. Feat. Carla Prather “That Feeling”, James Ratcliff Pres. Urban Groove Feat. Tommy Blaize “Takin’ U Back”, Notenshun Feat. Sandy Mill “Lyrical Flight”, Jody Watley “Photographs (East West Connection remix)”, Kim English “C’est La Vie (Jon Cutler Distant Music remix)” etc…, I think you have the picture! Yet another very high quality release from this leading London based label.

DOLLS COMBERS >> Globalizing >> (CD > LITTLE ANGEL)

You should know this label (of Harley & Muscle) and the sound that it likes to propose. Well, this newest signing (Italian) brings us an album full of house music with jazz and soul-funk influences (also with some chill out moments) and it is quite enjoyable. Dolls Combers (Vincent Lacerenza & Manuele Tigani) bring us yet more proof that sadly more than often good Italian projects have to look outside of their own borders in an effort to get something released!

V. A. >> Jon Cutler In The Mix >> (CD > SOULSTAR)

Soulstar welcome to their fold no less than Mr. Jon Cutler, the label manager and founder of Distant Music and highly respected ‘don’ in the business. Here he puts together 12 tracks from various artists that read like a house music hall of fame; Kerri Chandler, Karizma, Monique Bingham, Faze Action Pres. Orto Feat. Vanessa Freeman, DJ Oji Feat. Esteban, Melba Moore, Ron Hall & The Muthafunkaz Feat. Mark Evans and more… Style and grace on this very house-floor orientated compilation!

V. A. >> Kultbox Vol. 2 – It’s All About House Music >> (CD > CLUBSTAR)

Yet another very fine perspective of a choice of the Clubstar, Soulstar, Little Angel and Conya labels releases from such artists as Bronco, Dolls Combers, Jamie Lewis & Nick Morris, Groovemaster K. & Daniel Garcia, Whiteside Feat. Soulvibes, Playmaker, Davidson Ospina & D’Layna, Suges Feat. Syreeta Neal and others all showing their very own take on what house music is all about. Over 70 music of good music plus some porno stars on the cover artwork… enjoy!!!

MENA KEYS >> Come Into My Mind EP >> (JELLYBEAN SOUL)

Already getting the thumbs up stateside from the likes of Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Mr. V, Marques Wyatt, DJ Spinna, Kevin Hedge, Francois K, Danny Krivit, Timmy Regisford, Tony Humphries and many more… when you hear this piece of soulful house music you will understand why! Very moving and very ‘happy’, this tune is very nice indeed!

THE SOCIETY >> Human Nature >> (FREESTYLE)

A very nice soulful male vocal song that is ‘broken’ up in its beats on the A side in the ‘Diesler remix’ whilst on the B side, the ‘No Comply remix’ makes it a bit more electronic and appears to be the nicest one – at least for me that is!

RHP >> Freakin’ Me >> (CDr > CR2 TRAX)

The sister label of CR2 have decided to become a digital only label for your downloading pleasure and they celebrate the fact with this latest signing from the Random House Project who bring us a touch of vocal house music with a groove and spruces of live instrumentation now and again that warm the whole thing up. ‘Original mix’, ‘Dub mix’, ‘Jon Gurd remix’ and ‘Askesian Society remix’ – over to you for the choice!
