Le Fromage –
Starters (Chartbreaker: from cheesy to
eternity)
GREEK_S
PRESENTS ALEX SPADONI “The Sound” (RICHTER/Melodica/Self)
The second episode from the label that has been born
out of the partnership between Melodica and Fahrenheit. There are many versions
here: it goes from the Radio Edit from Spadoni himself to the more Extended Mix
and the Alex Spadoni Radio Dub that uses the voice in a very particular way
indeed; it then passes over to the Frank Kobak Electro Mix and the Frank Kobak
Dub closing off with the Sygma In-Side Mix which is truly perfect for being
used as an intro. Sygma is the DJ behind the operation.
SCARLET
“Scarlet E.p.” (NIKEL/Global Net)
Morefloor, one of the most interesting realities on
the effervescent Italian electro house panorama, present an E.p. that includes
three different new tracks, “I Like To Running”, “Donkey Bacteria” and “Broken
Toys” that go way beyond the actual trendy sound that is nowadays hitting the
clubs all over the world. Manuel Cencios and Holdeck, old friends, demonstrate
in being spiky and having confidence when it comes to punk and electronic new
wave.
Le Fromage – Main Course (The biggest dishes)
BLUE
MÈCHE “It’s My Beat” (STOP&GO/Saifam/Self)
Once again Raf ‘B-Zar’ Marchesini and Jurgen Cecconi
who, along with Simone Farina, get to grips with a nice vocal sample from a
lovely young lady who has been in the recording business for some time but for
this particular occasion prefers to remain anonymous. The principal version,
the Punk-A-Best, does its job through a popular guitar riff, then there is the
Lastminute and the remix by Morefloor that flirt with Hocazoid.
MARIO
PIÙ “Moskow Diskow” (FAHRENHEIT/Neuton)
It might be the Winter in general, it might be that
Russia is very trendy at the moment or that the electro of Telex will never
become boring and, maybe, that all of the remakes of “Moskow Diskow” up to date
have all fallen short of the original itself. Now the new team that is made up
of Mario Più, Simone Pancani, Raf ‘B-Zar’ Marchesini and Jurgen Cecconi re-read
it in a more electronic key with extreme majesty and make it once again ready
to come back.
Le Fromage - Combo Menù (Dance albums for gourmet)
COLDCUT
“Sound Mirrors” (NINJA TUNE/Family Affair)
The sixth album of their career and fourth on their
own label. There are many guests present on this piece of work, Jon Spencer,
Saul Williams, Mike Ladd, Robert Owens, Roots Manuva, Amiri Baraka and Annette
Peacock. A mixture of hip hop, rock, funk and blues. The first single extracted
“Everything Is Under Control” is in fact the opening title from the album. With
Spencer and the rapper Mike Ladd the two of them examine the state of today’s
politics.
ALTER EGO “Transphormed” (KLANG
ELEKTRONIK/Audiglobe)
After the massive
success of “Rocker” and a run of remixes for illustrious people in the
recording world, Roman Flugel and Jorn Elling Wuttke present a double CD with
one record made up of new remixes that have been done by some DJ colleagues and
the other made up of remixes done for others. Well, there are some true
reconstructions like The Human League (“All I Ever Wanted”) and Primal Scream
(“Autobahn”) or even the one that has been done to Tiefschwarz on “Beat The
Bush”.
Le Fromage & Tapas (One dance compilation for a great ending)
V.A. “Metempsicosi Compilation” (SONIC SOLUTION/Metempsicosi Music/Self)
The first “Metempsicosi Compilation” contains the
latest productions from Mario Più, Joy Kitikonti, Ronnie Play and Zicky, Luca
Pechino as well as a few international hits that might have been heard during
their DJ sets in the last few months. With the CD, made up of 16 tracks
(amongst which Trentemøller with “Polar Shift”, Hiroki Esashika with “Kazane”)
there is also a free DVD containing footage of the Metem-mafiosi dates,
backstage, live footage, a short film and also some flyers.
